The quest from the hobby room for the owner's passion for sewing embraced the opportunity to develop a little used external decked area.
Rather than replicate the 1980s detailing and also inline with the owners ethos to use recycled material in her sewing exploits, the choice to clad the external timber frame in up cycled plastic tiles provided a ready made sustainable solution.
The mixed colour palette of the tiles also obscures the extended area when viewed from the public domain. The proximity to a public right of way negated the inclusion of windows to the side and daylight is introduced via a roof light and glazed doors.
A picture window provides a pleasant framed view of existing foliage to the frontage. The benefit of using a well insulated timber construction proved favourable in a site that was logistically difficult to access.
